Antler Wreath Dreamcatcher (SOLD)

This uniquely colored dreamcatcher uses two whitetail antlers as the base - these are fresh sheds, so the buck is still alive and kicking - which have been secured together with white sinew, white deer leather and a little cement to form a circular wreath. I hand-painted the antlers with glossy black enamel (finished with acrylic sealant) and accented them with subtle receding dots of turquoise blue-green that absolutely sings against the black.

The dreamcatcher web is white artificial sinew and handwoven by me. Pieces of real speckled turquoise dot the web, matching the blue-green paint accents on the antlers themselves. A black-dotted coyote tooth and glossy black hand-knapped obsidian arrowhead are also part of the web; the tooth is a salvage and the arrowhead was knapped from real volcanic obsidian by me.

Hanging from the antler tines are long lengths of soft white deer leather; on their knotted ends are small white goose feathers. A single large blue slate turkey feather hangs from the centered crossbeams of the two antlers, accented by two real american bison bone beads and another small piece of speckled turquoise. The feather's spine has been accented with black enamel (along with the coyote tooth) to play off the black antlers.

The antler wreath by itself measures 12 inches wide by 8 inches high. If you count the hanging leather laces the entire dreamcatcher measures 25 inches top to bottom.
