Finished! Antiqued shades of metallic silver compliment deep blue and the glint of crystal in this Victorian style pendant.
The mink skull used came from a naturally deceased animal and was processed and cleaned by me.
After processing the skull was coated in bright metallic silver and given a darkening antique wash to 'age' the pendant and bring out the details. A handmade rose of gunmetal gray and royal blue adorns the crown of the skull, sending out thorny midnight blue vines to curl around a few tiny sparkling white Swarovski crystals.
The teeth have been stained with metallic blue to play off the rose's colors. The 3 inch skull hangs on a 20 inch silver plated chain with lobster clasp; more chains link onto the jaw's bottom canine teeth and hang freely. All chains have been drilled and linked into the bone itself, not glued. The skull has a satin finish while the rose was finished off with a glossy sealant.
